Mental fitness involves mental workouts. It is important to be mindful in our every day lives. It takes practice to attain a deep awareness of self. At first it takes practice, eventually it will come easier. Research indicates that when one works on their mental fitness it improves them on a holistic level.

loving kindness
Doing a loving kindness exercise helped me to feel at peace. I find that when I embrace all people with love and compassion it sets me free to be myself. I found the practice to be very natural for me. I feel complete gratitude to be working on my inner life. I recommend doing this meditation to others as a way of healing and finding inner peace.

meditation, wellness & goals
Rating my physical, psychological and spiritual wellness on a scale of 1 to 10. I would say my physical health is 8, psychological health 7 and spiritual health a 9. I say this because I get plenty of exercise in my daily lifestyle with walking, biking, and caring for my children. I also, eat a plant based whole food diet. My psychological health is a 7 because I do feel stressed sometimes. I work with the stress by feeling into my emotions and doing what I can to maintain calm. My spiritual health is the highest because I practice mindfulness, meditation and spirituality is important to me.
My goal in the physical category are to exercise more and eat healthier foods. I want to eat more raw foods and bike more often. I also want to practice yoga daily. In the psychological area my goal is to ground myself through meditation whenever I feel stress. In the spiritual area, I want to do guided meditations daily.
I really enjoyed the meditation. I have done similar meditations in the past and I really appreciate the chakra balancing aspect of this particular meditation. I have been putting off starting my practice and feel that that is one of my goals that came up for me. I have much to teach about holistic living and just need to find a place to practice and work on getting the word out about what I offer.

guided meditation
The guided meditation exercise was an interesting experience. I did have some interruptions, which is normal in my life. I plan to try the meditation again.
I do have experience with meditation. I meditate before my children get up in the morning. I go to a transpersonal therapy group that does guided meditations during class. I have had excellent experiences with this. I have achieved holotropic states through guided meditation.

integral health
This blog is inspired by my class at Kaplan called psychological and spiritual aspects of healing. I am thankful for the push to blog weekly. I have been procrastinating this for some time. I have another blog that has not been posted on since 2009. I plan to use this blog for my journey through my health and wellness degree at kaplan and into the future.
